The Gazebo Players are proud to announce their 2021 summer production of Shakespeare in Shorts. This family-friendly production will feature 10-20 minute excerpts of Hamlet, Twelfth Night, The Tempest, Macbeth, Comedy of Errors, and The Taming of the Shrew staged around the properties of Medfield State Hospital and Walpole's Bird Park. Audience members will receive a map of each property with designated scene locations, and will have opportunity to walk to each scene. Maps will be available at the Chapel at Medfield State Hospital and at the Music Court in Walpole's Bird Park. Performances will be held in the event of light rain, but will be canceled in the event of more inclement weather. The cast list is as follows: The Taming of the Shrew- Steve and Cynthia Small Hamlet- Kate Vieira and Lana Orlova Comedy of Errors- Benjamin Medeiros and Kyle Whitty Macbeth- Joe Rich and Ellen Pariser Twelfth Night- Marielle Boudreau, Barbara Schapiro, and Ashley Harmon The Tempest- Mary Parker, Hannah Baker, and Pooja Usgaonkar (directed by Jess Viator) All performances of Shakespeare in Shorts will be from 4 PM - 6PM and are free to the public (with donations gratefully accepted). The production opens in Medfield at Medfield State Hospital on Saturday and Sunday, July 24 & 25. The production then travels to Walpole for performances in Bird Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 & August 1.
