What was life really like in 17th century Plymouth Colony? Join historian and curator Stephen O'Neill for a virtual talk about famed Mayflower passengers John and Priscilla Alden and their original homestead in Duxbury. Stephen is the executive director of the Hanover Historical Society and guest curator for the archaeology exhibit at Alden House "Exhibiting the Daily Lives of a Pilgrim Family." The site of the Aldens' first house in Duxbury was excavated in 1960, uncovering thousands of objects and forming a remarkable and important collection. Stephen's talk will highlight clues about the architecture of their home, the patterns of their daily routine and the layers of history spanning the years of this 17th-century site. This program will be broadcast through Zoom. To register, please visit www.alden.org.
